Something's all knotted up at Berkeley....

Server status page shows lots of work ready to send, but the cricket graph shows very little bandwidth going out. Last I looked, there were even around 1600 AP WUs available!
And the forums are slow as molasses, which is very unusual, even when the rest of the system is having troubles.
Last work I downloaded was 3-4 hours ago, but small amount might be getting out.
At least it appears that uploads and reporting are still going through.

My uploaded tasks (but not validated) have started validating now,
and there is download activity starting again.

No just had trouble with it uploading to the message board so I hit post reply and then added the last bit and so it looks like I did 3 of the same.

You should use "Edit" not "Reply".

But if there's a forum stall and your message doesn't appear after you click 'post', then there's nothing to edit ;-)

If that happens to me, I open a second browser tab on the message board. Often enough, the new post is already in the thread, even if the 'posting' tab is still stuck. If it's there, I abandon the tab where the post is stuck, and carry on editing my typos in the new tab.

Yep same here but as I only run a couple of machines at weekends all their hard work is going down the tubes as I switch off my laptop Sunday night. So anyone waiting for these results, will have to wait as I am away after that.

I realise that this project hangs on by a shoe string, and I would like to donate but living in the UK makes it difficult.(I don't and will never have a credit card). But if I have crunched them I should be able to claim credit and my wingman/woman get the same, but no! Sorry by any standard NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I wish I wanted to crunch for another project as much as SETI@Home but I don't. More fool me.

All of my work units just got through uploading a few minutes ago, and then some new work units came down.

Network traffic has dropped noticably; all the MB splitters appear to be out of action.

Phew!!

I can breathe out again, it managed to upload the hefty sched request file to Berkeley tonight.

Boinc became so choked with the large client_state & sched_request file that Boinc started to consume 1 core of cpu and couldn't keep track of the heartbeats on the cuda executables resulting in constant restarting of the cuda executable making it impossible to complete results.

At worst the sched request file was up to 16MB and client state was 25MB in size , it tried to report 2573 results in a swooop which apparently wasn't going that well :)

All in all, everything worked out and things seem to work smoothly again.

This was only a "FTR" post (For The Record)..

Kind regards Vyper

Well done! ;-)

You had maybe good luck that you have fast DSL connection?

I - with my DSL light 384/64 DL/UL (more isn't available in my village) - I had no chance to UL the report .xml with ~ 1,600 results..

The report lasts ~ 30 min. .. yes 30 minutes.. or 1/2 hour.. and coundn't reach the scheduler.. *"§$%$&/%&/$%&*

We have a fibre connection 10Mbit so that is not a problem. :)

It can take time for sure but our ISP seems to have low TTL so i get a time out long before those thirty minutes you just mentioned..

Splitters are down and we've run out of work, shut down your BOINCs for now. (unless you are running other projects)
