HI All, I just installed a new processor and started to resume my crunching, I bought this quad core, but only one task is running at a time, albeit a lot faster than my old processor. Any ideas? I took a look at my settings and all seems fine to let all available processors run at the same time. If you read this over the next couple of days, my GT9400 vid card will be reinstalled once I am comfortable with my system being stable, so some might comment on my GPU, other might not. Thanks for any help and direction to try. |

What does BOINC say about your processor in the Messages tab after a restart? What does windows task manager say? None of the hosts in your computer list is reported as having more than two cores. as I started to install further devices, i.e. cuda and Raid, bonic now has all four quads running. that you for all your help. As for my pc list, I haven't updated to seti since I came back online. Task manager is now processing 8 items right now all at once. I answered your questions even though they are mute at this point, because I do appreciate the time you took to ask them. 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM Processor: 4 AuthenticAMD AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor [x86 Family 16 Model 4 Stepping 2] 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 3dnow mmx 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Edition, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM Memory: 3.25 GB physical, 8.95 GB virtual 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM Disk: 465.76 GB total, 452.23 GB free 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM Local time is UTC -4 hours 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM No CUDA devices found 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM No coprocessors 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM SETI@home Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform 8/13/2009 7:39:22 AM [error] App version uses nonexistent coprocessor CUDA |

I am betting that it is this one: AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) Processor LE-1640 [x86 Family 15 Model 127 Stepping 2] (1 processors) I also bet that the Hardware Abstraction Layer needs to be upgraded. Some possible instructions: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article07-100 Make certain to backup everything important before you start. BOINC WIKI |
