I don't see an option for turning off the BOINC icon in the menu options bar (upper right side of the Mac.) Can someone tell me how to do it? I really need the space in that area and the BOINC icon is one that I don't seem to be able to turn off.

Thanks!

You can install BOINC as a system service: the core client will always run (whether or not anyone’s logged in) but you won’t see any icons except while running BOINC Manager.

Adding to that, see http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Tools_for_Mac_OS_X for how to do that.
