Hello, I have a GTX 295 CO OP running about 15k a day RAC with a AMD X4 940 CPU. Hungry for more credits I added a GTX 260 core 216 to the computer. Now under BOINC everything is registered as a GTX 260. What gives? I am prety sure the drivers are loaded properly. All the best, Aaron Lephart www.smartcar451.com |

Boinc seems to report all cards in the machine as the same model. Not sure if it is a specific slot # or has to do with which is faster etc. This machine actually has a 260 c192 & 9800+ Here is the message from BoincManager: Local time is UTC -10 hours NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ (driver version 19038, compute capability 1.1, 512MB, est. 91GFLOPS) NVIDIA GPU 1: GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ (driver version 19038, compute capability 1.1, 512MB, est. 91GFLOPS) As you can see the website reports 260x2 and BM 9800+x2 .?? O_o It has always been this way with mixed machines and seems purely cosmetic. Everything crunches as it should. Good luck, nice machine! keep crunching "The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not Eureka! Hello, Hello Aaron, I had a look at some of the results of that machine, and everythings appears to be fine. It is using all three cards, so no worries there. That it reports the machine as having 3 x GTX260 has (if I remember correctly) to do with the version of BOINC you're using. The newer versions simply take the slowest of the lot and report that you have N times this slow card. But it doesn't affect crunching at all. Using different cards may cause the estimate it takes to finish a wu to be somewhat off the mark sometimes, but that also is more a cosmetic matter and does not affect the efficiency of your machine. Regards, John. |

@ GTP They are all running well.. ;-) BTW. If you look to the shader speeds.. all different. You used an OC prog, with autom. OC? Which prog you used? You changed only the shader speed? Or also GPU core and RAM? <core_client_version>6.6.38</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> setiathome_CUDA: Found 3 CUDA device(s): Device 1 : GeForce GTX 295 totalGlobalMem = 939196416 sharedMemPerBlock = 16384 regsPerBlock = 16384 warpSize = 32 memPitch = 262144 maxThreadsPerBlock = 512 clockRate = 1440000 totalConstMem = 65536 major = 1 minor = 3 textureAlignment = 256 deviceOverlap = 1 multiProcessorCount = 30 Device 2 : GeForce GTX 295 totalGlobalMem = 939196416 sharedMemPerBlock = 16384 regsPerBlock = 16384 warpSize = 32 memPitch = 262144 maxThreadsPerBlock = 512 clockRate = 1368000 totalConstMem = 65536 major = 1 minor = 3 textureAlignment = 256 deviceOverlap = 1 multiProcessorCount = 30 Device 3 : GeForce GTX 260 totalGlobalMem = 939261952 sharedMemPerBlock = 16384 regsPerBlock = 16384 warpSize = 32 memPitch = 262144 maxThreadsPerBlock = 512 clockRate = 1512000 totalConstMem = 65536 major = 1 minor = 3 textureAlignment = 256 deviceOverlap = 1 multiProcessorCount = 27 setiathome_CUDA: CUDA Device 3 specified, checking... I am using EVGA's precision overclocking util. Not as good as others but pretty brainless. All the best, Aaron Lephart www.smartcar451.com |
