At last.
The Pope's Swiss Guard will now not have to wear the 2 kg heavy metal helmet any more since 1506!
With 3D technology, a company in Switzerland has developed a helmet with UV protection and ventilation.

Arne Svindal will not race the Streif nor Lindey Vonn the Garmisch-Partenkirchen downhill. They both have physical problems but they may race the SuperGs.The Streif is for tomorrow.

Ah, Hahnenkamm-Rennen. Almost forgot. Thanks for reminding me.
About "Supergutten" Aksel not Arne:)
He is 36 years "old" so it's not surprising he will not race the Streif with all of his knee injuries.
The Streif is really demanding as Ingemar Stenmark once noticed...

Once Franz Klammer was already on the winner podium when the speaker announced that Gustav Thoeni had the best time at mid race. He lost by a few thousands of a second. I think it was 1974.

Der Streif was Italian this year.
Paris said afterwards "Crazy. It was a hell of a ride":)
Weather is always a problem in skiing.
Anyway Hahnenkamm explained.

Alexander Köll from Sweden just crashed badly in the Zielschuss...
Race interrupted.

Swedish SVT just interviewed Beat Feuz.
The interviewer asked in English and Beat answered in German.
LOL.

Anyway Der Streif is really demanding.
Here is a video from today when something get very wrong to Alexander Köll.

Missed that because of the weather and all these rescheduled races...
Nice to see that Sofia Goggia is back again though.
She once said “I moved like a Samurai”:)

And Marcel Hirscher can only applaude the winner of Slalom in Hahnenkamm-rennen today, Clement Noel who now gets a new ski lift in Kitzbühel named after him.
Ingemar Stenmark has the ski lift no 38.

Marcel Hirscher was intervied by SVT after his race in Kitzbühel.
Is it special to race here?
It means if skiing on a Saturday or on Sunday.
On Sunday most people are.. hmm... tired.

Dorothea Wierer wins the biathlon 10 km at Anterselva and increases her standing in World Cup. Lisa Vittozzi is third. No coverage by Italian Tv.

It was covered by SVT but I missed to see it.
Dorothea Wierer was born in the areas of the biathlon facility in Antholz.
Then Lisa Vintozzi.
"Forza Italia" instead of "Heja Norge". Hehe:)
No "Heja Sverige" today tough:(

You are correct with the country names. Actually almost everytime winning skiers in long distance ski races are from Norway or Sweden. We have a long tradition.
Proper dress when skiing the Marcialonga.

Becoming winners in Marcialonga.

Yes Many "race interrupts" in Garmish...
Well safety first.
Oh. Lisa Hörnblad, Lin Ivarson och Helena Rapaport our contestants in Garmish was involved in a rescue operation when going up in a cabin/gondola the other day.
One of the passengers had a heart attack.
Lisa then started giving him CPR and saved his life:)

Italian skier Federica Sosio, 24, has a broken leg after a fall in Garmisch where others have fallen including Federica Brignone. The race track was not safe for girls, many have fallen, but only Sosio has a broken leg.
