Italian firm ASG from La Spezia has completed the first of 10 superconducting toroidal magnets for the ITER nuclear fusion experiment in Cadarache, France. It will be shipped to Provence by sea. Other 10 similar magnets are being built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan, while the poloidal magnet is being built in China. Tullio |

Reggio Emilia-Tortona Grand Tour debuts don't come much better than this. Fernando Gaviria (Quick-Step Floors) made it four victories at the Giro d'Italia on stage 13 – the richest haul since Bernard Hinault in 1978 – and he did so with the most searing sprint of the lot. Well there are some more stages to go:) |

Welcome to live coverage of stage 15 of the Giro d'Italia from Valdengo to Bergamo. Tom Dumoulin is still wearing the maillot rosa. But will he be after the Bergamo climb? We will know in less than a hour. |

My apologies to Jungels, from Luxembourg like Charly Gaul. He lost a Giro because he was attacked while doing a physiological break. Yesterday when Quintana fell on a descent, Tom Dumoulin asked his teammates to slow down. Bravo Tom! Tullio |

My apologies to Jungels, from Luxembourg like Charly Gaul. He lost a Giro because he was attacked while doing a physiological break. Yesterday when Quintana fell on a descent, Tom Dumoulin asked his teammates to slow down. Bravo Tom! Bravo! I remember when Jan Ullrich waited for Lance Armstrong when he fell in Tour de France . Well that was before we heard about Lance's doings:( Oh Another rule in cycling. Don't ever try to take advantage of some one else needs when nature calling:) |

I found the story about Jan's and Lance's "adventure". The 2003 Tour de France was the first for many years that Ullrich had not been considered a favorite. In the first week, Ullrich became sick and almost retired. He lost a minute and a half on Armstrong in the Alps. Ullrich fought back in the time trial. Armstrong had trouble with the heat and lost one and a half minutes to Ullrich. Ullrich was within a minute of Armstrong in the classification. The next day, he closed the gap by another 19 seconds in the first mountain stage. Two days later Ullrich rode away from Armstrong on the Tourmalet but Armstrong caught up. Half way into the next climb, Luz Ardiden, Armstrong's handlebar got caught in a spectator's yellow musette waving in the air and he fell. Ullrich waited for Armstrong to recover, returning the courteous display by Armstrong 2 years previously.[10][17][18] Armstrong then caught the group and attacked shortly afterwards. |

Tom Dumoulin, after a sick stop of one minute, rides alone and maintains the Maglia Rosa by 31 seconds over Quintana. Sadly Nibali said: 'I never expect anybody to wait for me when I stop' :( Vincenzo. Where's your manners? |

Today there is a not difficult climb towards Canazei. I used to ski in Val di Fassa. I slept at Pozza di Fassa and used to climb with cross country skis in Valle dei Monzoni and Valle di San Nicolo'. When more trained I used to follow the Marcialonga trail until Mazzin. Then I crossed the Avisio river and went up to Rifugio Gardeccia under the Torri del Vaiolet and the east face of Catinaccio (Rosengarten). Then in the afternoon I went to Hotel Antico Bagno, a spa along the Avisio river, and enjoyed a mud bath, then a massage. Then I went back to my Hotel and drank a Pinot Grigio before supper. Happy days! Tullio |

The Peloton with Maglia Rosa is now 13 minutes behind this stage leaders one hour before the finish line. Resting day? Well. I don't recognize any of the leaders:) btw. Il Giro continues even if Roberto Vacchi is not "racing". However, you are in good hands when @OntSnapping is . Eurosport 1 now! When @Ontsnapping and @vacchi commented on Dumoulin's intestinal emptying at the stage yesterday, television history was written! |

Another unwritten law in cycling. Never wear black socks. Anders Adamsson our expert commentator at Eurosport. Roberto Vacchi agrees. Tosca says Arf, Arf:) |
