Economy Nobel prize to Oliver Hart,UK, and Bengt Holmstrom, Finland. The Briton teaches at Harvard, the Finn at MIT. Hart is the fifth Briton to be nominated this year, but 4 out of 5 work and teach in the USA, So, if you want a Nobel prize you know what you must do.The Italian Vincenzo Balzani is an expert on molecular machines, but he was born in Italy, like Beppo Occhialini, Tullio Rergge and Nicola Cabibbo. No luck.

Nobel has nothing to do with the prize.
Some critics argue that the prestige of the Prize in Economics derives in part from its association with the Nobel Prizes, an association that has often been a source of controversy. Among them is the Swedish human rights lawyer Peter Nobel, a great-grandson of Ludvig Nobel.[27] Nobel criticizes the awarding institution of misusing his family's name, and states that no member of the Nobel family has ever had the intention of establishing a prize in economics.[28]

The title in La Repubblica was "Nobel per l'economia a Hart e Holmstrom". Not being an expert in Nobel prizes I took it at its face value.

The title is "The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel".
Science?
To me science is a practice to explain things in the present and the past and also the possibility to predict future events.
Has any economic "scientist" predicted any future events?

John Maynard Keynes had made forecasts on the future of world economy after the punishment imposed on Germany by France and Great Britain after the World War 1 but nobody believed him.

That's true. I have also seen a documentary about a man in the US that did the same thing:)
He was jailed and didn't get the "Nobel" prize.

In Italy a woman journalist of the Communist paper L'Unita' was indicted for "propagazione di notizie false e tendenziose atte a turbare l'ordine pubblico" for writing about the dangers of the Vajont dam. Then Monte Toc crashed into the artificial basin on October 9 1963 causing 2000 deaths. She was acquitted.

RIP Dario e congratulazioni a Bob

Amalie Dideriksen of Denmark won the elite women’s road race at the World Championships in a close sprint, beating favourite Kirsten Wild (Netherlands) to the line. Third place went to Finland’s Lotta Lepisto in a predicted sprint finish after nearly 135km of racing in Doha.
Nice to see some Nordic countries at the podium at last.

I think Denmark won also the male junior race. I think it means under 18, because there was also a race for under 23. Tomorrow the Elite men.

I am afraid it is all a matter of money. like Rome renouncing to candidate for the 2024 Olympic games. We shall all go racing in Arab states, like the Jamaica bobsleigh racing team.

From the flat desert to a very rainy mountainous place:)

Norway. Come to think about Trofodermin.

Not only Norway's ski team is questioned about athlets using drugs when competing.
Should "sick" people compete together with healthy people?
Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs).
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bradley-wiggins-blasted-by-kittel-and-greipel-over-tue/
Marcel Kittel and Andre Greipel came together to deliver a scathing assessment of Bradley Wiggins.
"If someone has severe asthma, then he has no place in performance sport," German media reported Kittel as saying.
"We introduced the Paralympics because we want to give people with one leg a chance to compete against others," he added.
