Most riders opt for pink bar tape and a pink helmet as a minimum but Nibali has gone for a full pink frame to celebrate Giro d'Italia victory.

Bravo Nibali, but he was helped by Kruijswijk's mistake. I wish Steven could run the Tour, but his team is weak, as evidenced in the descent from Colle dell'Agnello, while Nibali has strong companions like Michele Scarponi.

Kruijswijk is still racing despite a fractured rib after the crash in Colle dell'Agnello!
“I didn’t suffer for three weeks to give it all up now,” he said.

It's raining in Torino.

As I just wrote about rain a crash just occured on the slippery roads.
The jury decided to stop the clock for the GC times.

So Nibali is the winner.
He came, he saw, and he conquered today:)

Oh dear.
The officials have ruled against Nizzolo and the stage win has been awarded to Nikias Arndt.

I have heard Sasha Modolo protesting against Nizzolo, but I then switched the TV to another program, that is my Windows PC.

Viva i Comuni!

I should write in Italian, but people have asked me to use English in narrating sports events.

I am 81 years old, and having being scolded by Raistmer for making a mistake, I told him I had the right to make mistakes and he agreed. My only companion in this thread is a Swede like you.

Well, janneseti seems to be able to communicate in Italian, something I sure can't :-)

You should know that Italians are more easy to communicate with than the French and the Germans:)
Italians accept bad spelling, pronunciation and grammar errors.
And they can speak English!

Well, I speak only American English having studied in St.Louis, MO. Last year I followed an online course on the Higgs field by Edinburgh University, and I had problems in understanding English spoken by Scots.

Maybe they spoke Norn:)
Although Scotland took over control of the Shetland islands in 1472, the Nordic language, called Norn, was still spoken until into the early 1800s. The dialect of Shetland is still strongly marked in tone and vocabulary of Nordic influence.

Italians speak German as well in South Tyrol.

Yes, I remember him. In the three Ladino valleys (Val di Fassa, Val Gardena and Val Badia) people speak three languages, Italian, German and Ladino. You have to declare to which ethnic group you belong and go to the proper school.

I find it very fascinating that so many countries in Europe have so many languages even in the same country.
I guess that the americans are very confused about this.
And so am I.
Only the other day I learned about Elfdalian (the name sounds like something from Tolkiens novels) that is spoken by less then 2000 persons here in Sweden.
