can you make a button in preferens to bonic work during sunday or (people can choise their of day) That is already available. BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Preferences->for both the Processor Usage and Network Usage options you can set what day of the week to override the other preferences with. The Processor override only works when you tell BOINC through those preferences to only do work when the computer is idle (not in use). and can u make the screen saver is static or choiseable A static screen saver isn't saving much of the screen. It will burn in, even though some people here tell differently. It's in the eye of the beholder, I think. However, you can emulate the old Seti screen saver by following the steps on this page. ____________ Jord - BOINC FAQ Service - BOINC User Wiki Real is just a matter of perception.

...The Processor override only works when you tell BOINC through those preferences to only do work when the computer is idle (not in use)... Not true. The only thing you have to select is "Run based on preferences" in the "Activity" menu of BOINC manager's advanced view. At least so it works for me with BOINC 5.10.45. So what does it override then? It's the "day-of-the-week-override". if it doesn't override any of the above settings, then why the name?

So what does it override then? It's the "day-of-the-week-override". if it doesn't override any of the above settings, then why the name? That's the local preferences in 5.10.45 (top of "processor usage" tab): Computing allowed
While computer is on batteries
While computer is in use
Only after computer has been idle for nn minutes <-- this is independent
Every day between hours of xx and yy (no restriction if equal) <-- this gets overriden
Day-of-week override... <-- by this Gruß, Gundolf
