The ability to attach a different name to a computer

Instead of the name of the computer it would be nice to be able to assign a different name to the computer such as 'Computer 1' Who's with me! ID: 921892 ·  |

Why don't you simply rename your computer if its name doesn't comfort you? Are you aware that no one else can see the computer names on your account? Why don't you simply rename your computer if its name doesn't comfort you? The only problem is that I am setting up the computer labs at school to run SETI@Home and I cannot just change the names of the computer otherwise it will disrupt the school network. Are you aware that no one else can see the computer names on your account Yes I know this but when I am looking through the list of computers on my account it would make it a lot easier to have 'Computer 1' rather an an obscure network name.
