SETI@Home's servers and bandwidth are a bit overloaded right now; everyone is having problems connecting. The staff are working on a solution but it may be a while before the problems go away. Please be patient until then. Thanks, -OzzFan |

Hello, Is it deferred on both projects? Have you recently updated your Linux Distro to Ubuntu Jaunty and since then it hasn't worked at all? If this is an intermittent problem and you are trickling some work through now and again then refer to OzzFan's post below! I have recently installed BOINC-manager onto this computer, (Ubuntu OS) when I go to "Advanced View", then to "task" and click on Rosetta, the "show graphiics" tab becomes bold and clicking on that brings up graphic display of rosetta. However, when I do the same and highlight Seti@home,(which is also running) the "show graphics" tab remains faded, and I cannot obtain the graphic display for seti. Is there a special command I need to use, or is there something wrong with the server?? Kinda curious as Rosetta displays just fine. mecsr@wtechlink.us |

I'm not quite sure (I'm no unix user), but I think there is no SETI graphics application for *nix. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

You just installed Jaunty? Which kernel version do you use? When I started with Jaunty, in April of this year, I had lots of problems, mostly computation errors. Until I switched to kernel version 2.6.30. Then all my problems were gone. Last week I tried 2.6.31 and it had other errors, so I switched back. Kernels can be found here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ Choose the one suitable for your hardware (32 or 64 bits) ______ DeMus |
