The ReSchedule files need to be put in your Boinc Data Folder,

The directories need in ReSchedule for Windows 64bit are:

PROG C:\Program Files\BOINC
DATA C:\ProgramData\BOINC

As of v1.8, the program can be run from any folder if correct main program and data paths are supplied.

I have 32bit BOINC on my Vista 64, the bin path is C:\Program Files (x86)\BOINC\

Message 914314 - Posted: 5 Jul 2009, 13:00:00 UTC - in response to Message 914298.

Thanks for the reply.
I have set folders and run the test that works.
I have RUN the program and get the number of wu's
currently 1445 cpu tasks.
I then get the message, having set x cpu units to 8
and xgpu units to 2.
I7 h/t =8 and 2 GTX275's.
How ever I now get an error:There is no application defined for version 608.
I have the req'd 6.08 as I have been crunching with this rig for about 4 months.

Any solutions to this.

I guess you are running with Boinc 64 bit, I also do so.
Same problem here, ie atm with 1.8 you cant move CPU -> GPU, there will be missmatch in plattformtype.

That some is working are only - VLARHLAR to CPU.

This will be corrected in next release if I understand it correct.

Thanks for putting me right.
I am running Boinc 64bit here also.
Hope they fix it soon.
I have 1400 cpu tasks and no gpu tasks,it would
be nice to even them up a bit.lol

I just ran the ReSheduler prog on my Vista 32bit rig and got the same error as with my Vista 64bit rig
Error:There is no application defined for version 608.
Still no idea why this end as it happens on Vista 32 and 64 bit rigs.
Both rigs were happily running Cuda tasks before they all dried up.
I thought the ReSheduler prog might be the answer.
Any help GREATFULLY Received

And the both paths are correct and the optimized application .exe is (still) placed underneath the data path (in projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu)?

Yes exactly where it has always been.
When I restart Boinc Manager there are no errors and it says
05/07/2009 20:49:38 SETI@home Found app_info.xml; using anonymous platform
and Boinc is asking for gpu tasks.
None coming down though so cant test if they will work on the rig now.
I am running this app will it make any difference
MB_6.08_mod_CUDA_V11_VLARKill_refined.exe

BEWARE - UNEXPECTED SIDE EFFECT OF USING RESCHEDULE PROGRAM

Hi All
Reschedule works at the client level but if you use it to move 6.03 (CPU) units to the GPU, when they are returned, the server still thinks they were crunched by the CPU. As a result the server thinks you have one hellishly hot CPU and allocates extra units to the CPU accordingly.

Therefore if you have a slow CPU driving a fast video card you are likely to find that the CPU is allocated an impossible number of units for it to complete on time. e.g. I have a 3GHz P4 driving a GTS-250. When the dam broke and I was able to download units again I was allocated 349 units to the CPU and 200 to the GPU. All this for a 1.5 day cache !! These 349 units represent about a months crunching for the poor old P4. When I used ReSchedule to move some of these units to the GPU, as soon as I restarted BOINC it immediately set about downloading more CPU units to make up for the ones I had shifted.

So, if your using ReSchedule to move CPU units to the GPU be aware of this and keep an eye on the number of units that the server allocates and uploads to the CPU. At the moment I'm having to run "No New Tasks" to avoid CPU overload.

@ Marius.
I'll post this on Lunatics as well, but would it be possible to add an option to this program to only move VLAR's to the CPU and leave the VHAR's on the video card(s) ?

Thanks for tip but it may not apply here.
I am running an i7 with h/t on .
I have 1400 cpu tasks and no gpu tasks for my 2 GTX275's.
I am trying to give them something to do.
hoped this could be a short term measure till WU's start to flow again.

Is there an windows executable (.exe) for this or do I need to find some program that supports .rar for windows?

If there is no .exe can someone explain to me how to install this on windows Vista 32bit?

The tool itself is an executable - no problem there.

'rar' is just an archive format, like zip or 7z. If you already have 7-zip (often used for Lunatics packages) you can use that to decompress rar as well: otherwise, you can use other tools like WinRAR.

Thanks Richard!

I tried to figure this out at the Lunatics forum with no luck. The talk about perl script had me a bit confused. lol
