Seti@home has suddenly started telling me I don't have enough memory: Tue Jun 23 18:57:20 2009|SETI@home|Message from server: SETI@home Enhanced needs 32.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 32.00 MB. I had made no preference changes prior to this occurring, although I have tried to fix it since. Help! |

Check the following: - Make sure you have enough disk space on the disk that is used to store BOINC and seti files. - Check your online preferences (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=global to make sure that the disk is not being limited to a certain size or % of total disk space. If you make any changes you will need to update the project from your BOINC manager for the changes to take effect. - Check your BOINC preferences override file (BOINC > Advanced > Preferences) to make sure that the disk size or % of total disk space is not limiting seti. |

- Check your BOINC preferences override file (BOINC > Advanced > Preferences) to make sure that the disk size or % of total disk space is not limiting seti. And else clear these by clicking the Clear button. The local preferences will then be deleted and you'll go back to using the web-preferences. Whenever you look in the local preferences, exit using the Cancel button. Clicking OK will save the preferences and BOINC will immediately start using them. By the way Scott, the message isn't about memory (RAM) but about disk space that you lack to download Seti tasks to. So changing the memory settings won't do a thing, you have to check the disk usage settings. |
