My last message said

Message from server: Server has software problem

I went in search of the error message related to this thread

Error on file upload: can't open file: %s

and it would seem that the message "can't open file: %s" is actually coming from the server, the "Error on file upload: " is generated by the client.

Guess they are having a few teething problems.

I'm a programmer, and my guess is, by the looks of that message, some error is ocorring while parsing the filename string. Maybe the string parser is dynamic (which is also a string, or C++ regular expression), and must have a small glitch, which in this case, is returning the actual C++ code for "string", instead of getting the actual filename.
Hope that makes any sense. :)

All of this is fine, however what happens when we finish all units, both Beta and seti and can not connect to server, and seti keeps sending the error %s .
Are we going to have to detach from both and restart all over??

Is boinc really ready for public release yet or what?
surely they would expect the majority of seti users would be jumping over straight away...its seems they didn't think so

is it still in beta?
