As I understand it, once credit has been granted for a machine, it cannot be removed. It just sits there in your account, but you still get any credits that it accumulated.

Here's how to do it -- just discovered it myself.

From setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu, go to Your Account, then View Computers. Click on the Computer ID of the machine that's not in use any more, and you can merge that computer's stats with a machine that's still running SETI. How cool is that?

I have two machines running which were turned off for a while. Now I got them back crunching. the problem is that boinc/seti lists them as new machines. I tried to merge the host's that are the same but it is not possible since there isn't any host to check in the "merge screen".

I am thinking about deleting. Is it possible to delete the hosts without loosing any credits or are they gonne if the host is gone?

hope to hear form somebody...cya

Hello all,

Credit belongs to the account, to which the hosts belong. And they stay there forever!

A host, that's somehow not necessary any more, can be
a) deleted, once every old result is deleted (credits stay with account ;)
b) merged, if there's a double (happens with some updates, or detach/reattach)

A team only gets credit as long as the member is in it. The Teamcredit stays with the team, even after the member is an ex-member. No team shopping any more.

BTW:
The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BOINC Powered Projects Documentation by Paul D. Buck and the FAQ therein.

For information regarding Credits look here!

For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki
