There isn't anything new from 185 series, just fixes for Win7 and improvements for specific games.... |

Windows 7 64 bit users beware. I am running RC in safe mode at the moment since system refuses to allow login after Nvida update for 9 series 64bit applied. When we finally figure it all out, all the rules will change and we can start all over again. |

Finally had to restore the system to an earlier point and things OK again. When we finally figure it all out, all the rules will change and we can start all over again. |

They produce results faster and use more power. I know since they overloaded an uninterruptible power supply I had been using for months for two of my crunchers. I had to go to two separate UPSUs. -- Classic 82353 WU / 400979 h |

Did you read Release Notes of 185.85 and 186.18? There are no many differences especialy for CUDA part... 185.85_WinXP_GeForce_Release_Notes.pdf 186.18_WinXP_GeForce_Release_Notes.pdf Maybe it's different because of Win7, but in general, for S@H users I don't think that new version is significantly faster. |

Not true. The 186.18 drivers are significantly different. They produce results faster and use more power. I know since they overloaded an uninterruptible power supply I had been using for months for two of my crunchers. I had to go to two separate UPSUs. Can't confirm this. My PC with 4 x GTX260 Core216 don't use more W power. Raistmer's latest CUDA_V11_app, CUDA_V2.2 .dll's and nVIDIA_driver_185.85 = only changed the nVIDIA_driver_186.18 [same wattage] The crunching speed isn't significant faster.. maybe only some sec. per WU. I made for some minutes the update.. and the first results looking like around similar as before. Future will show the true.. ;-) |
