I have 202:54:06 h Astropulse work, part ap_22fe09ad_B6_P1_00095_20090416_12638.wu_4. It means 98,964% of the total work of this part, but since CUDA is working, the 02:15:58 h remaining to completion are permanently "waiting to run". The limit to inform is 06/16/2009 21:01:09 h. How can I stop CUDA work parts in order to finish the Astropulse work? Daniel |

about the only way to do this is by going to your account preferences page and unclick the "gpu processing" then head to your BOINC manager and suppress the seti_enhanced 6.08 WU's then your cpu will be able to process your AP WU. Another thing to do is get the lunatics unified installer. This will get your gpu and CPU playing nicely together. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

How can I stop CUDA work parts in order to finish the Astropulse work? The problem is that you are NOT using CUDA for processing. The WU's are falling back to the CPU because of a problem with your GPU setup. Have you got the latest CUDA drivers loaded? F. |

He's also still using 6.4.5. Could that be giving him a problem too? PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

What I would do to force ap-workunit to finish (if I don't think BOINC will do it for me): Set project(s) to No New Tasks and suspend all other workunits (ready to start, waiting to run, running). That will leave only ap-workunit to run. Of course that will leave one core idle (but it's a P4 HT) and also GPU idle, but as Fred W wrote, you do have a problem with CUDA so they're running on CPU instead of GPU. I would wait fixing that problem until the ap-workunit has finished, uploaded and reported as not to risk loosing the almost finished ap-workunit. |

Thank you for your information. It works. As soon as this part of Astropulse will finish I will restart the Seti@home Enhanced 6.08 (cuda). Daniel |

How can I run AP work instead of just seti classic work? I did a search on "how to I run AP" but got no valid returns on teh search forums. Just select SETI@home Enhanced: to no, in your SETI@home preferences and Astropulse v5 to yes. (Astropulse is discontinued, no work there) But that isn't advisable at the moment, as no fresh Astropulse work is being split at the moment, and resends are in short supply. Claggy |

... "Lunatics' Unified Installer" by Jason G (Thanks Jason!) is amazing - - it saves a lot of handwork when you want to install Optimized SETI apps. I will recommend to anyone to use it. It is a pity that there are only ~1500 Downloads till now. { Guess who is behind the window :) } The name of the file is: Lunatics_Win32v0.1_AP503r112_AKv8b_CudaV11.exe (4 MB) (All You Need is this file) It contains latest versions of All Win32 (SSE, ..., SSE4.1) Optimized SETI apps - MB, AP, CUDA. (They compute MUCH faster (150% - 250%) than "standard" apps) You can use any combination your CPU/GPU supports. (e.g. SSE3 for AP, SSE4.1 for MB - use CPU-Z freeware utility to check what is Max SSE... your CPU can do) You only need to select the options shown on the screen-shot above - the Installer "knows" where your BOINC installation is. It "generates" the .exe files and "app_info.xml" file and puts them where they should be. Get the "Lunatics' Unified Installer" from: http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;sa=dlview;id=184 (Click on [Mirror 1] to Download) Before starting the "Lunatics' Unified Installer" exit BOINC and check in Windows Task Manager that there are NO running SETI apps . I'm hosting the Unified Installer on my site (link in my sig), and I know a few people have downloaded it from there. Downloads from my site are not counted in the Lunatic's 1500 so I'm willing to be that there's more downloads than that. |
