Has anyone in the SETI area considered the possibility of a planetary system putting up rotating planetoids with mirrored facets for SETI contact?
It would offer several advantages for contact initation.
1) Would require little or no upkeep for long periods of time
2) Could be set up counter the systems planetary rotational axis immediatly showing it's artifical
3) Could be set up in a pattern of 1 - 3 - 5 or such indicating a non natural source
Problems with the idea
A) Biggest item! How large would a reflection have to be to be seen at range?
B) If rotating how short would the light blast be for observation?
C) How large an object have to be to be stable for long periods of time?
D) Since it would use the light of their sun what freq should be looked at?
Open for commments.
Could be just another foolish idea. I've had a few...

Great food for thought, but all of this would cost money, of which SETI@Home doesn't have.

May be better to suggest this to the SETI Institute, whom regularly gets money donated to them, such as Microsoft's Paul Allen.
