Nope, it's already up and running. You've got a few returns already.

go to your account page and click on tasks. Or an easier way is to look at your BOINC mamager and look at your WU's. You'll see seti_enhanced 6.08. those are your CUDA WU's you should see one running.

This should give you an idea how your card is doing...The first is with your CPU the second is with your Cuda card...10,040 seconds Vs 161. The 161 seconds is the time it uses on the CPU to set up for and report the Cuda work. The actual wall time it spends on your GPU will be more but the stock apps doesn't give that elapsed time.

PS: I think someone in number crunching suggested you try optimizing your rig. You could probably cut those times by at least half on the work you do with the CPU. Also, when the Astropulse WUs start flowing again it will make a huge difference in their times.

I too have installed CUDA and I can't seem to get any work units for my GPU. What I installed was this:

cudadriver_2.2_vista_32_185.85_general.exe

I enabled GPU processing in my preference files and I just don't download any seti_enhanced 6.08 WUs, only seti_enhanced 6.03.

My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 512 MB video memory.

I am running Boinc manager 6.6.31

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you use optimized CPU apps?

Then your app_info.xml file is telling the servers "hey, these are the apps I have, and these are the types of files I'm compatible with", so if you don't have CUDA listed in your app_info.xml file, you won't get any CUDA work.

Would it be too much to ask for an example of how to add CUDA to the app_info.xml?

The easiest way to add CUDA to your app_info.xml file while ensuring nothing is forgotten, I'd suggest to use the 32bit Unified Installer package. Note that the installer is not inclusive, so make sure you select all the apps you want to run, don't just select the CUDA to add CUDA to your app_info.xml.

I did as you advised and still no 6.08 WUs. Clearly SETI recognizes my GPU:

CUDA device: GeForce 8500 GT (driver version 18585, compute capability 1.1, 512MB, est. 5GFLOPS)

You've got a ton of work on that poor dual right now. I'm surprised it's giving you anything more. I see you are running 6.6.31. It doesn't differentiate between CPU and GPU when it asks for work. You might try the newer 6.6.36 it might fill up your cuda cache along with all those 6.03s.

You might also go to your account page, setiathome preferences and make sure use GPU is still checked.

I updated SETI to 6.6.36. I guess I just need to be patient for a while and see what happens.

Thanks.

Looks like your patience has paid off. I see you have processed some CUDA tasks e.g. 1264810180

You also have some "errors" which are to be expected as the installer must have given you the opt app which kills off VLAR tasks running on the GPU. Killed wu
