I have several computers, and I have noticed that when I check the pending tasks, I see a list (considerably longer) then the list in BOINC. As I pride myself into processing my tasks as quickly as possible, I do not like that there are these tasks assigned to my computer (stated sent May 27, 2009) that my computer never did receive. I remember that there was a problem during that time, with the servers (No work available from Astro-pulse) and I believe this tasks are all the smaller SETI tasks. I believe this will disappear when the date passes and I do not send in the information, but I wish not to delay both SETI and the others donating the processing time for nothing... Is there something I can do to release, or notify someone so that these tasks can be re-assigned, or given to someone else. Thank you... A.L.E.X. |

About the only way to do this other than waiting for them to time out is to go to the projects tab in the boinc manager, select Setiathome, hit no new tasks, finish up the tasks you have now and report them, then detach from the project and re attach. After you reattach make sure to allow new tasks. This should clear all the ghost tasks from your account and send them back out to other crunchers. They will still show on your tasks page but as client detached. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
