I have 3 machines running Seti, all of them have experienced increased "crunch" times for the WU's by about 25% to 33%. Anyone have any explanation for this other than the seti version has changed? Anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I think everyone (at least windows users) has. It's been mentioned in several threads on the board.

The three most popular guesses are: 1) more intense calculations hence longer crunch time, 2) an incorrect compile option on 4.05, or 3) a debug was enabled (a debug file is part of the download of 4.05).

Since the project does not seem to care to respond with any news, we can just sit back and speculate.

yeah my crunch time is longer also.
i have a amd 64 3200 and it would
crunch a wu in about 2.5 hrs. now it
is taking about 4-4.5 hrs. i would
also like to know what the difference
is, and what is going on.

Also, watch your uploads. There have been a great number of WUs rejected by the server(s), which means wasted CPU cycles. Some users have stopped until the problems are fixed. Others, including your's truely are hanging in there crunching what comes down the pike. I do know that the dev team is working on the upload problem. A news message was posted on the front page. They may be working on the longer crunch time problem, if it is indeed a problem, and just haven't had the chance to post a news message yet.

Hello
many people have had increased crunch times.I was crunching two wu's(ht) in 3 hours and 20 mins. With 4.05 it is taking 6 hours and 20 mins. They say it may be because the debugging code has been left in and it is using some cpu time so slowing down the wu times.
