Why not? You probably just downloaded an AstroPulse task. Those have 8 MB and last that long. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

iv'e just waited several houhs for this download. Why does it tell me I now have 280 hrs to go? Welcome to the Seti project. You have received 4 WU (Work Units). 3 are of the MB (Multibeam Enhanced) variety and 1 is an AP (Astropulse) WU. Each has an estimated time to process. The MB are probably estimated around 10 hrs (guessing since it's been a while since I've attached a new computer to the Seti project) and the AP about 280 hrs. These are initial estimates based on a reference computer and most likely much too high for your kind of computer. As work progresses you will notice that the estimate to completion will go down faster then real time. As you finish processing work units, Boinc will learn the capabilities of your system and will slowly adjust the initial estimates closer to the real values. EDIT: MB and AP use very different types of data analysis which is why they are so different in the time they take. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |
