I have 2 computers running SETI boinc. On one computer Boinc has been idle for nearly 2 days. Messages show no task available. But the other, faster, computer has been running constantly with no idle time. I've tried update and even reset. No joy. S'up?

There are a multitude of threads now complaining of this very same thing. The servers are having a bad day ...errr couple of day. With any luck they'll be creating a lot of work very soon. If not, do what Seti recommends, get a backup project or 2 so that your system won't sit idling

As well as what Skildude says, you can also increase the "additional work buffer" under Advanced / Preferences / Network Usage. It defaults to .25 days, if you increase it to 2 or 3 days then your machine will download a few more work units and not run out when the servers have their planned (or unplanned) outages, hiccups, overloads etc

One thing you guys forgot to look for, his slower machine is a Pentium-4 and running an AP WU which takes a long time to complete. His faster machine is a Quad and runs through WUs much faster and four at a time.
