I click on "advanced" and "read the local pref file" or "read config file" and nothing appears. I mean, not even a blank screen. Guess that (again) somethings screw and (again) i need to dump my 80% astropulse WU crunched and (again) download and reinstall boinc? |

I click on "advanced" and "read the local pref file" or "read config file" and nothing appears. I mean, not even a blank screen. Why should there appear a window? Those options are just to read in changes in your global_prefs_override.xml respectively cc_config.xml file. Jord asked for the content of your app_info.xml file Guess that (again) somethings screw and (again) i need to dump my 80% astropulse WU crunched and (again) download and reinstall boinc? Why should you do that if there is nothing wrong with AstroPulse? The message is about MultiBeam (SETI Enhanced). Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. And so... The app_info.xml file is something you have put in yourself. It won't come with a BOINC installation. It comes for instance with optimized applications and therefore it lives in your \projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\ directory in your BOINC Data directory (Which by default, if you didn't change its path, is at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\ for Windows XP). This directory may be hidden, so make sure to show hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer. (When files and folders are hidden, a search will produce none of the files that are hidden. Else what's the use of hiding them?) You can open *.xml files with Notepad, Wordpad or if you don't want to edit it, in any browser. As Gundolf already said, since it's a message about Seti Enhanced, you don't need to reinstall BOINC or dump the Astropulse task. You never have to remove work in progress before tinkering with files in BOINC. All you better do before editing files is exit BOINC completely (stop it running, no need to uninstall it). |
