I have been working pretty steady on this.. The threading is working very well now but there is some tweeking yet to do. I added a tab under the host tabs that is updated by the threads activities. This is cool and lets you know what they are doing.. You can start and stop each thread. Oh.. btw.. the threads are responsible for getting the data from the clients and building the data tables for them. When the tables are built, A timer that fires regularly merges that tables to create the main data grids. I DONT LIKE Windows default colors on controls so.. I replaced most of them with my own graphics. I also.. after much studying and reading, found a way to kill all flicker in the grids. It was annoying seeing the graphics flicker on each refresh. The grids are rock solid now. Multipal table sorting has been added.. you can see the blue arrows in the pic below. Now I just need to write the code to save the sort orders for the different grids. Not a huge task.. but more work. I also created a popUp console for working with projects and WUs. I was originally going to have a column with controls in it but after doing that, it looked way cluttered. I want this to be as clean and UN-CLUTTERED as posible! Must is left to do.. Remoting attaching to projects. Displaying mem and HDD usage. other things Im to tired to think about :) Heres a pic.. I got the column hide/show working for all the datagrids and you can see the popUp I made.. Im still pondering some ideas about user controls and any input is welcome! Thanks for taking the time to look at this :) -- Mike Not Ready Reading BRAIN. Abort/Retry/Fail? |

That looks great Mike. I presume it will be easy for a novice like me to check on a pc over the net. At the moment I use remote desktop.I could never get to do it via BM. I for 1 give the colours a thumb's up Dave |

Well, I am ready to beta test ... :) lol.. I know Paul.. Im trying like a fool to get this thing 'out the door' BTW.. Thanks for the help with the research! I will for sure give you credit for that in the about page :) Also. thanks everyone. It has a long ways to go but im hoping in a month, all the major components will be ready for a beta release. Heres something that would be REALLY REALLY COOL!! If.. someone that has the skills and the time could come up with a program similar to HWMonitor that I could connect my Boinc.NET program to, it would be beyond awesome. Think how cool it would be to monitor temps and voltages from one app along with the Cients state!! How cool to have a column that showed the GPUs and CPUs temps next to the progress bar.. Man.. I need to do more research on this!! I have done a lil reading about this and it doesnt seem like a huge challenge but right now, every bit of time I have is going in to the dev of Boinc.NET. Thanks all :) --Mike Not Ready Reading BRAIN. Abort/Retry/Fail? |

I wonder whether Fred would be willing to collaborate with you on that? You would probably need a program like his Automatic Temperature regulation to act as a local daemon/hardware monitor: if he could add RPC capability, you'd get your data feed. |

Hey Pappa.. Most of that is done in that popup control. Im not going to put buttons all over the top of the main window. Its cluttered looking. I much more prefer having the tools you need where and when you need them. All one has to do is click on the WU that you want to do something with and the tool pops up. It has the buttons for both Project AND WU's for pausing and resuming on each respective bar. The WU contol also has an abort button. (not implemented yet). The Project bar has a refresh button (Do net work communications). I put magnifiers on both bars and plan on have them open up something?.. to give more details about the project or WU in question. More things added today The column order and size along with which ones have been selected as visible or not, is being saved for recalled on load now. Column sorting is being saved for recall as well. Which tabs are selected are also saved. You can hide the main windows frame. Yeah..The blue frame that surrounds the Tabs. The Window also drops to 50% opacity while moving it if you grab the window next to the top row of tabs. This is a cool feature when your trying to fit it to the max of top of the screen. I may add code to place it there with a button click later on the bottom tool bar. I have been all over the net trying to find any method of changing the tab colors. As near as I can tell, It can NOT be done with the stock MicroSoft TabControl. I guess we are stuck with the dull sorta sand colored tabs unless I can find a way to change them. I emailed Alfredo at Almico about a posible addition to his program 'SPEEDFAN' that will allow my program to collect data over a TCP socket. (no word back yet) He doesnt sell any version of his program and does NOT have a version that is networked like HDMONITOR does.. But that version costs $ If you have never used SPEEDFAN... You best check it out.. Its pretty freaking cool. Anyway.. Im beat.. long day at work and trying to work on this in my spare time there is going to piss someone off at some point. They dont seem to care that my machine is cranking out work, Its more.. How dare you do something in your own interests while at work!!.. Albeit, There is a guy there that goes out with the GM , drinks heaps of beer and bets on games. Funny how he can get away with being on his cell for 3 hours a day and never a word is spoken about it. Maybe I need to go hang with the GM once in a while.. LOL Nah.. Im no suckup and never will be!! -- Mike Not Ready Reading BRAIN. Abort/Retry/Fail? |

And the crew at Berkley amaze me with the amount of time and energy they put forth trying to keep everything running smoothly, and always keeping us updated on the progress. Thank you!!!! |
