Who is Yuri?

Try using Boinc: Download BOINC client software

That won't help him, champ, as he is using IBM's OS/2, for which there's no default client available from the BOINC download site. So he has to use a 3rd party built BOINC and a 3rd party built Seti, both of which were built by Yuri.

Georgie, do you have two accounts? I don't see any computers attached to the one you're posting with. So please, could you either point to your computer (give a link to it), or login to the account you're crunching with?

Hi Jord,

I have run Seti several times in the past but always on Windows OS.
I have no idea with wat password or email....
Also Einstein on Windows machines.
I'm logged in now, but on my login page I can't find any data about my computer.
It's an experiment, wanted to see how OS/2 is doing; in 2001 I tried also with OS/2 without any succes.
The computer is an Abit mobo with 2GHz P4, 1GB memory and a NVIDIA TI 4600.
If no succes I will try FreeBSD.

Well, if the error -108 you get is a BOINC error, this may be caused when the directory that BOINC lives in is hidden. It can't find itself after starting.

The other problem is that you do not seem to have attached correctly to Seti to do any work. Hence why I asked about the two accounts and pointed you to the FAQ that shows how to change to the other account.

If you only have one account and you think you did attach correctly and Seti seems to be working, then the only thing is to see if the directory is hidden.

Although there are other options for this error:

ERR_FOPEN -108

1. BOINC has a problem opening or writing one or more files. One of the ways to get this error is by hiding the BOINC directory and its sub directories. Then BOINC can't find where it is running from.

Solution: Do not hide your BOINC directory.

2. BOINC finds that the file is open and in use by another process, or BOINC cannot write to the file.

Solution: Exit BOINC completely and restart it.

3. It may happen, that when an application hangs while opening/writing to a file and then terminates abnormally (e.g. via Task Manager or even BOINC), this (formerly opened) file may stay locked even if the application is terminated (due to file locks are handled by the OS - e.g. file locks on network shares are handled by the OS for the network PC/Server - the OS needs a definite "remove this lock!" from the calling application to remove it).

Solution: Restart your computer.

4. You installed BOINC as an administrator but run it as another user and didn't give that user rights to write to the BOINC directory/subdirectories. The directories their read-only attributes are set.

Solution: Either run BOINC as administrator, or give the user you want to run under rights to write to the BOINC directory and subdirectories.

After re-reading, you are right Jord. Sorry @all.

Dag Jord,

Hier is dus iets mis.
Now install your project client code".

Sorry guys for the Dutch language...
