Loaded Windows 7 and got it up and running, works great so far no probs with the O/S.

I cannot get Boinc (SETI) to recognize my 9800GX2 as two separate cards? I have tried different drivers and different versions of Boinc (.20 &.26) Running the new 185.81 Driver (tried it with the 182.50 as well) and Win7 Ultimate fully updated...

Using the Nvidia control panel to choose to use or not use the multi GPU configuration does not make a difference?

Win7 issue? Driver issue? Boinc issue?

Any ideas? Anyone else having same problem? Anyone have SLI running with Win7??? Specifically a 9800GX2?

Incedently system was runnnig flawlessly (AP units along with CUDA) with Vista Ultimate. So, I know the card and hard ware are good...

Yes, I just built a Win 7 x86_64 with a GTX285, using BOINC 6.6.20.

I see exactly the same problem and still look for a solution.

I think I will revert to an older Version of BOINC and attepmt this one again :
http://lunatics.kwsn.net/12-gpu-crunching/v10-of-modified-seti-mb-cuda-opt-ap-package-for-full-multi-gpucpu-use.0.html

Note that it will not work with BOINC 6.6.20, thus an older Version is needed.
I still have to read myself which version exactly do run with this tweaked version.

To my knowledge, it is a driver based problem on windows 7.

Thanks guys! I ended up setting up a dual boot and I'll just stick with Vista ultimate right now for my primary O/S. Not only does my pair of 9800 GX2's not play well with Win7 but I've also discovered my HP photo printer is not supported and my Blu Ray/HD DVD drive won't work. So, for now I'll stick with Vista and mess around with Win7 at my convenience...

Again, Thanks for the input!!!

Nvidia has the driver u need , and win 7 seems to eat it alive.. i get some wierd chnges in screensize to start with but all that is corrected even if one problem remains.. i have dual 8800GT but can only find one gpu in list.. well small problem.. win 7 should work better than vista it seems.. (ubuntu fan here though) :) Good luck!

Dagar.

I dont know if this will be any help to anyone.. I have win 7 and 2 Geforce 9600 GT 1024MB. Firstly. even with SLI disabled The project will not show 2 GPU's I had to pull the SLI bridge off the cards. Once i did that, i could use both cards.

System is as follows

Intel Quad Core Q6600
Asus P5N-D SLI System Board
4GB 800Mhz DDR2
1Kw PSU
2 Gigabyte GeForce 9600GT 1024MB DDR3

Im getting process times of about 23 minutes on average with CUDA on both cards

Temps for the GPUs are stable at 42c, I attribute this low temp to my 4 Volcano 80mm 6500rpm fans..

its a LOUD system to say the least.. but she is cool CPU is about 48c at Full Load as well.

The problem isn't with multiple cards, its with multiple GPU cards. Hopefully, an updated video diver for Win 7 will correct this. It's a great operating system.

how did you solve it in vista? i am running vista business 64bit and GeForce 9800 GX2 but BONIC is recognizing it as 1 GPU. i have been trying to get it to see 2 GPUs but i wasn't successful.

NVidia knows about the problem. It has something to do with tighter restrictions on the driver in Win 7. And it is indeed a pity, because Win 7 looks really nice.

Nvidia released a new driver on the 21st that solved the multi-GPU cards CUDA issue (detects only 1 CUDA device). The new driver version is 190.38.

I Closed BONIC and installed the driver, then restart and now I have my 9800GX2 detected as 2 CUDA devices :D

ohh and PhysX is enabled and multi-GPU is enabled

This driver did not solve my problems with the GTX 295. I see only one 295 in WIN 7.

after few trials to know where is the problem in Vista 64, I had to disable PhysX and restart the computer then re-enable it again for BONIC to detect 2 CUDA. try that maybe it will work with you.

Ok did that no effect.
I had another card that was detected on the same machine. But alas that one is DOA as one part of the card is generating CUDA errors.
The second 295 card that was DOA for CUDA so far. So that card is far from perfect or not tested on that part.

Yep. This is a dual boot system with XP 64. On XP 64 everything is fine.

Despite having Win 7 drivers on the Nvidia site for the C1060..and the card working fine in windows..I was unable to get cuda working. :(
After talking with Nvidia for a bit; they had said that the (driver structure?) is different in 7 and XP and current driver doesn't really totally support win 7. ;)

So was told I would have to wait a bit and have gone back to XP for now. I love 7 and can't wait to make the full changeover.

Not sure if that is any help just sharing my experience. Good luck!

I cannot get win7 RC 7100 to work with my gtx9800+ and boinc 6.6.36. It simply does not see the cuda device. Two other vista-64 systems work fine.

I uninstalled, then reinstalled and the cuda device was recognized. Go figure!
