BOINC v 6.6.20 reports: "5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM No CUDA devices found" Running Vista Ultimate 64bit on Intel Q6600 (Quadcore at 3GHz) with 8GB Ram and a MSI GFX260 (CUDA capable) Latest drivers 182.x, Checkbox ticked "Use GPU while computer is in use" http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=54251 Very odd. Please can someone shed some light on this issue? |

Did you install BOINC as a Protected Mode/Service installation? If so, CUDA does not work with this type of configuration under Vista. |

The log mentions Running as a deamon, and a deamon is similar to being a service, so it might be that it's "protected" that way. Any way to unprotect it? 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Starting BOINC client version 6.6.20 for windows_x86_64 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8j zlib/1.2.3 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Running as a daemon 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Running under account boinc_master 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz [Intel64 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11] 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni mmx 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM OS: Microsoft Windows Vista: Ultimate x64 Editon, Service Pack 1, (06.00.6001.00) 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Memory: 8.00 GB physical, 16.05 GB virtual 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Disk: 117.19 GB total, 28.01 GB free 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Local time is UTC +2 hours 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM No CUDA devices found 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM No coprocessors 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Not using a proxy 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 4905184; location: home; project prefs: default 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 03-Aug-2005 17:24:38) 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home Computer location: home 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Reading preferences override file 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Preferences limit memory usage when active to 4094.82MB 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 7370.67MB 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM Preferences limit disk usage to 2.00GB 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home Restarting task ap_20mr09ad_B4_P1_00393_20090501_11275.wu_2 using astropulse_v5 version 503 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home Restarting task ap_21mr09aa_B4_P0_00126_20090501_31738.wu_0 using astropulse_v5 version 503 5/3/2009 1:24:07 PM SETI@home Restarting task ap_21mr09aa_B2_P1_00336_20090501_24993.wu_0 using astropulse_v5 version 503 5/3/2009 1:24:08 PM SETI@home Restarting task ap_02fe09ae_B5_P1_00253_20090419_00422.wu_3 using astropulse_v5 version 503 |
