Other than selecting all CUDA tasks and then hit suspend, is there an easier way to pause CUDA task for when I need the GPU for something else, such as decoding x264 video?

Suspend all of BOINC, or exit it for the time being. You don't just need your videocard to decode video, but at least one CPU as well.
