3 weeks ago or so I decided to try AP again.

You need to include MB in the app info.

This has been discussed numerous times, and I'm usually the one mentioning or re-affirming the point, but I believe there is some broken logic on the scheduler that tends to give you AP if you have that selected as an app you want work for.

I can also confirm this. On the vast majority of machines I have AP on, that's all they get. They are set to accept everything. Ever so often I will see a 603 or two mixed in there, but nothing in any great quantity.

I too can confirm this, I have got MB in my app file and all I got was APs. Perhaps something can be done so that we get a mixture and I will happily take 2 days to crunch an AP whilst my MB take about 2Hrs

I can chime in and also confirm this.

PopandBob Or maybe the project staff is overworked and underpaid so haven't had time to adjust settings which control how much of each kind of work the Feeder tells the Scheduler about. What has worked for me is to have only SETI@home Enhanced checked for the three types, but also allow "work for other applications". I usually get MB, but sometimes there isn't any and I get AP_v5. The balance seems reasonable so far, about 25 MBs for each AP_v5. Joe

I was getting too much MB for a while after the big database crash so I set my preferences only to do AP unless no AP work is available. Longer wait for the credit but better credit per hour. Before the big database failure though I was seeing what everyone else was seeing - nothing but AP.

I wasn't complaining. I want all my machines running AP with the exception of my slower machines. AP with the opt apps gives great RAC. :)

I also confirm that I only got AP_v5.03 workunits on 3 machines, which also have the MB section on app_info.xml file. The machines' capability of AP workunits is 12hrs, 25hrs and 51hrs (if it has to do something with processing speed).

Same on all my machines.

Mostly > 90%, AP WU's, wander where all the MB WU's are?

For what its worth, my mix of MB 6.08 to AP 5.03 is about 10 to 1 with Raistmer's optimized apps. This is from monitoring it for about the past week or so.

Mostly > 90%, AP WU's, wander where all the MB WU's are? They aren't here. I crunch only AP. ____________

PopandBob Completely understandable, but I have all for checkboxes selected in my prefs (mb, ap, ap_v5, allow for others), and I get 100% AP..always, no matter what. The only way I can get MB is to go to my MB-only venue. I used to get the same as you, ~25 MBs for every AP, but then all this CUDA stuff came out and the 6.6.x family of clients with the fancy scheduling, and now the scheduler won't give me MB unless I force it. ____________ Linux laptop uptime: 1484d 22h 42m Ended due to UPS failure, found 14 hours after the fact

but then all this CUDA stuff came out With the servers set to dish out equal amounts of work the CUDA clients would get all the MB the server has and CPU's the AP. That makes sense now... Its an unintentional side effect from fixing another problem and releasing cuda. We didn't notice before due to there was never any AP ready to send (before v5) so MB were abundant. ~Bob ____________ Do you Good Search for Seti@Home? http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=888957 Or Good Shop? http://www.goodshop.com/?charityid=888957

I would suggest that there are four groups of crunchers.

In the long term the overall ratio of AP to MB will be stable at X:Y.

I seem to get nothing but AP. I got some MB WU's like 2 weeks ago ( a total of 6) and its been nothing but AP since March I think.
