I have a spare 8800GTS, was wondering if there would be any problem with pairing it up to a rig with a 8800GT already in it.

a) Will XP allow the two different cards to be recognized (I assume so).

b) Will BOINC have a problem with the GPU's being different?

Thanks guys

a) Yes
b) No

I was running a GTX260 core 216 and an 8600GTS in the same box with not many issues. The only issue encountered was due to drivers not working well with cards so far apart in age but even that didn't affect boinc it affected the few games I play.

Also Boinc (as far as my tests have shown) is not affected by the unequal shader slowdown at folding@home (incase anyone was wondering about that)

The only thing to watch for is that you may need to update drivers via device manager to ensure the right driver is installed on the right card.

interesting. thanks for the info!
This cards are very close and use the same driver, so it sounds like it should be pretty simple. good to know!
