	How do I acquire a task? I rarely use BOINC, and I don't have time to play around with it. I gave an Update command, but received zero new tasks from the scheduler. What do I do?

	Don't run Astropulse, for one. Especially not when you don't run BOINC as much. Disable getting AP tasks this way: -> Your Account -> Project resource share and preferences -> Edit Preferences -> Set the check marks on the following as indicated: -- SETI@home Enhanced ON -- Astropulse OFF -- Astropulse v5 OFF -- If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? OFF -- Use Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) if available: OFF -- Use Central Processing Unit (CPU): ON -> Update preferences (with the button at the bottom of the page here). -> Open BOINC Manager -> Advanced view -> Projects tab -> Click on Seti to select it -> Click the Update button This way you only get Seti Enhanced, which you should (hopefully) be able to finish before its deadline. ____________ Jord - BOINC FAQ Service - BOINC User Wiki Real is just a matter of perception.

	I followed your instructions exactly as written. Thank you for your help. However, when I finally reached the step for updating SETI for a new task, I received zero new tasks from the scheduler (again). Let me know how to fix this. Here's a screen shot taken after I adjusted the settings:

It will happen in increasing time steps. 	When you say, keep at it, what exactly do you mean? Should I continue to update the SETI@home project? If you mean continuously pressing the Update button in BOINC Manager, then no. Don't keep pressing the button as that causes extra stress on the servers. The new perferences will be downloaded automatically when your client contacts the servers naturally. ____________
