I know it can be done, but as the last report I saw, on PC faults, showed that >30% of all faults were directly attributable to power supplies or the on board voltage regulators. And another ~20% of faults probably due to power supply problems.
Then I personally stay away from situations that could compound the problem.

Of course one guy did mention the Bios needs an upgrade as the person couldn't get the 2nd GTX295 to work, Seems It has some Bios problems to work out. Hopefully that will be solved before too long.

Ratm you can forget about this board to run four GTX295...
I tried that some time ago just to find out in the end of the test that the board can only handle 7 GPUs, but using 8 it will refuse to boot. Running three GTX295 + one 8800GTS was possible (under XP64); using Linux it was limited to only three GTX...
Maybe they will correct this fault sometime...but since this board is out for some time now and nothing has changed I wouldn't bet on it...

Thanks UL1, You saved Me a lot of hair pulling.

Well then that does It, It's the GA-EX58-UD4P for Me, Can the naming of these motherboards get more convoluted? sigh, That ASRock looked so promising, But with It not being able to do more than 3 GTX cards(7 gpus) and the psu problem here in the US(or the lack of a suitable one at least), Gigabyte looks like It's the best bet for crunching in one box, so far.

Just a couple of quick notes on that board (I have the GA-EX58-UD3 version):
- Sound card has a lot of digital noise. Turn all the volumes down on it (50-75%) and use your speakers to amplify. Or get a new soundcard.
- On-board network card may flake out under Windows, especially after a reboot;
to fix, disable "Green LAN" in BIOS and under Network settings for the card (Windows 2K/XP). A hard power cycle (unplug power supply) also fixes it (temporarily).
- When changing memory timings, CPU timings, the system will power cycle itself after saving changes in BIOS. This is normal.

Good luck with your new build!

Thanks for tips on the motherboards quirks, But this isn't something I can buy shortly as My income dropped by $37 a month(I'm disabled and I get SSI), It was the SSP part of My income from the state of California that went down by $37 a month, Now I get $870 a month for a while. I may have to get busy on ebay soon as I have 3 WD 36GB Raptors to sell and they come with OS's installed and with actual XP CD's(2-XP x64 and 1-XP Pro(32bit)).

I've come across some new information on a psu, The Enermax Revolution 85+ 1050w psu, Since GTX295 cards need 24A each, this power supply has the rails and the wire to deliver 30A on each, Plus It can power 16 sata hdds too from what I've read here at Johnny Guru. I'd love get their 1250w model, But so far It hasn't been introduced yet from what little I've read. Oh and look in My Specs and You'll see PC1 has It's upgrades laid out for purchase over time.
