How dose an 89 hour project turn into an 210 hour project? The time to complete reads 89hrs..but after several hours the time to complete rises..and of course the CPU time to completion, after four days is 210 hours...Oh i am running AstroPulse.

The first thing to remember is that the Time to Completion is just an estimate based upon several factors of your computer. Since not all computers are alike, this estimate can be off.

I see you're running AMD processors. These tend to be less efficient with AstroPulse than Intel processors due to the way the program is coded. One suggestion would be to use optimized science applications, but this requires you to manually keep up to date with any science application upgrades in the future. Otherwise, yes, AstroPulse takes considerably longer on AMD hardware than Intel.

The time to complete starts as an estimate based on the FLOP estimate, the speed of the computer and the Duration Correction Factor (how wrong it has been in the past). As progress is recorded, more and more of a linear estimte based on time spent and fraction complete is encorporated. So if after a few hours, the task is not progressing very fast, the time to completion can grow.
