Well, I actually was able to meet one of my personal goals today.

I broke into the 'Top Hosts' list's top 100 RAC standings after only 2 weeks.
The machine came online June 21 and was not merged with another. Today is the machine's 2 week annivversairy ;)

Sure it belongs here. Congrats on that achievement, particularly when the system is conspiring to make life difficult as at present.

For me, today I should hit number 2 in the Boincstats list of single-host crunchers. It's a lo-o-o-ong way to go to get to number one in either that list or for my join date so gotta keep on crunching...

To my surprise, my main cruncher has broken into the Top 50 RAC standings for Seti, before it's 3rd week anniversairy (approx 2.5 weeks currently).

If my quaddie + GTX295 can get into the Top 20 (just about to fall out as I've had CUDA problems over the past couple of days) then your 8 cores + 2 * 260's should be able to hold its own up there. Don't give up hope yet :)

Both GTX 260's run 725mhz GPU, 1100 Mem, 1592 Shader Clock (thanks to eVGA's Precision OCing Tool)....essentially the throughput of a stock GTX 275 from what I can tell by comparison.

On the Core I7 Xeon CPU, I am running 3600Mhz (18x200) currently and my GTX 260's are reported by BOINC as follows:
CUDA device: GeForce GTX 260 (driver version 18618, compute capability 1.3, 896MB, est. 123GFLOPS)

Both GTX 260's run 725mhz GPU, 1100 Mem, 1592 Shader Clock (thanks to eVGA's Precision OCing Tool)....essentially the throughput of a stock GTX 275 from what I can tell by comparison.

Hopefully you get things running smoothly again and start climbing once more ;)

The Q9450 is clocked at 3.6GHz (8 x 450). The GTX295 is running at stock and the temp is hovering around 85C with the fan at 100% - I UNDERclocked it by 20% last week to keep the temp down as we had a bit of a heatwave here in the UK. Boinc reports "CUDA device: GeForce GTX 295 (driver version 18585, compute capability 1.3, 896MB, est. 106GFLOPS)" for each core of the 295.

I think a re-boot of the box has cleared the problems I was having with CUDA. Very curious...

In two weeks (around Aug 1, 2009) I will pass the 10MM credits mark. It only took me three months to go from 9MM to 10MM.

Very nice. After I broke into the Top 50, my climb was a little slower than I had anticipated and I began to lose hope.......so I bit the bullet and went out today and bought another GTX 260 card (for 3 total now) to help push me up the hill a little further ;)

Currently sitting at #34 in the Top RAC Seti list myself......and hopefully catching up to you soon ;)

#1 and #2 places in the list are pretty much hopeless to achieve unless I do some SERIOUS restructuring (read:buy better CUDA devices...and multiples...lol), so at this point, a Top 20 placing would suite me just fine.

[edit] According to BoincStats, I'm 5 days from being no.2 in my sign up date stats, and he/she (no.2) is 74 days from being number one. So I reckon by middle of September (very rough guess!) I should make number 1 in my sign up date stats! [/edit]
