Hi folks!
Just wondering whether there´s a problem with this project or not. I have the las 1 1/2 days no connection to the project/server.
Someone else has found this?
For the last 1 1/2 years it never took so much time offline (since I added my account to the project).
Thanks!

That´s what I was thinking of, but just needed some feedback/opinions...
It seems E@H is taking the shutdown this evening quite seriously!
Thank you and Cheers!
Have a nice weekend....

I've just accessed a page that says:

Einstein@Home is down due to a fileserver crash. We are working to bring the project back online ASAP. UPDATE: Fri Mar 27 22:39:13 UTC 2009 The filesystem needs to be repaired so the project will likely be down for at least 12 more hours. Thank you for your patience.

Pity they could not take advantage of Seti's troubles.......

Did young Travis ever show up back at MW? It was supposedly HIS project.......

He was absent for a long time, and although I am not crunching nor visiting there at the moment, I was wondering if the dude was OK..........the Kittyman does care,

Matt L. said he had some visitors from Einstein the other day.

Maybe this is the first human-transmittable computer virus?

If I was next on the Einstein visit list, I think I would cancel........

Wouldn't surprise me if this is due to the large number of Seti crunchers suddenly switching to Einstein and Milkyway as their backup projects...

It would at least prove that it does take a lot of effort to keep a project like Seti up and running 24/7

I think Milkyways outage was planned or at least foreseeable. They want to start a second project for GPU only with much larger WUs.

It sounds like the horde of Seti users mashed Einstein to a pulp.

They had MW up again last night after the computer admins mistook what was asked of them and tried to delete /milkyway/ and create /milkyway_gpu/ instead.

That was fixed last night, what is happening right now is something else as the site times out while trying to load either of the 2 URL's.

Travis posted on Thursday.

Has anyone fresh news on Einstein@home? Still out of work.
I have some work units ready to upload and my cache is empty!

How fresh do you want it? They have a problem with their filesystem which has to be checked. Since their array is not just a couple of hundred gigabytes, we will just all have to be patient.

As long as their array is off-line there will be no uploads, downloads or reports. Simple as that. You wouldn't want to corrupt their total project by just needing to upload? Heck, I have uploads from Cosmo, Einstein and Milkyway sitting here. BOINC will just retry, do not worry about it. As soon as they're back, BOINC will upload them.

My intention/concern is getting recent news, that´s all.
Since the project is completely down for maintenance, there´s no way being aware of what is happening.
Thank you anyway for your lines/words.

At the moment there seems to be quite a few project's with problems, mostly astronomy based;

Seti.
Einstein.
Milkyway.

All seem to be down to some degree or other at the moment, and it's not even April 1st.

Sometimes I just have to smile when I see complaints about Seti down time....
Besides Seti and Einstein, my list of projects currently also contains

Predictor - Down in part due to bad administrator. Project moved but still non-existent.
LHC - Only sends out random bursts of test WU - Project is basically on hold.
Proteins - Phase 2 finished May 2008. Phase 3 was due to start last December. Still no news when it will start again.
Tanpaku - Lost severs August 2008. May be revived if sponsors found.
Malariacontrol - Down since December - redesigning applications - It appears some test WU have been sent out but I haven't seen any.
Boincsimap - By project design only supplies work for 1 or 2 weeks at the beginning of the month.

That's half my projects which are idle.
