If I remember correctly the Moon landing took place in July of 1969.

We bought a TV to watch it, in glorious black and white :)

And in Glorious mono sound too(B&W or Color).

Mono sound I am impressed :o)

That was 50's technology and It took quite a while before real stereo came about.

I remember that day like it was yesterday. Was allowed to hold up our annual vacation trip to Northern Germany and watched it on a black and white TV, given to us by my grandparents. Our first by the way.

Actually, a color set did not make much difference (the hotel had them - advertised in large letters out front if I recall).

Was 14 at the time; used to follow the Space Program ever since Kindergarten (early 60's). I used to follow every single mission from launch to splashdown (well, as much as I could with going to school, but as soon as I got home, that TV - small as it was - got changed to whatever channel had the best coverage (IMHO at that time) - with my mom's permission, of course); in fact at one PTA meeting, my Kindergarten teacher had apparently showed my mother a drawing I had made in class; it didn't make any sense to her (or my mother), but then she told her that I had described the "gantry", the "umbilicals for the fueling", etc. in such detail (even at pre-school age) that it impressed my teacher to the "Nth" degree.

Just finished reading A Debunking of the Moon Hoax Theory; interesting read, even though I've never been one of those Hoax people (my mother seemingly is, though).

Why do we waste time on the moon hoax theory, when we should be finding out what they REALLY did with the alien bodies from Roswell?

Cause one can be proved and the other can't be proved, Take yer pick as to which is which of course.

The thing is someone was saying that venus didn't have any gravity, well, if the suggestions of the material that was found at the Roswell crash is accurate, the light 'crumpable' anti gravity material wouldn't work on planets that haven't got any gravity, suggesting that those flying saucers are ours...

I have often wondered what motivates conspiracy theorists. Moon hoax, lizard people, aliens at Roswell, the grassy knoll, whatever.

I have met a couple people who are convinced in the moon hoax conspiracy. I don’t bother arguing with them: it would be like arguing with people whom have strong religious beliefs: rational thought can never enter the picture, so why bother.

In the case of the Moon hoax, so far as I know, all of their major arguments have been thoroughly debunked (photo evidence, radiation belts, footprints in sand, waving flags, etc, etc.) yet they continue to believe the conspiracy theory.

Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.

To answer your question on what motivates conspiracy theorists. Moon hoax, lizard people, aliens at Roswell, the grassy knoll because the whole truth is never told to the general public.

Obviously someone is an undereducated fool a bodies have gravity sometimes you need specialist equipment to measure it other times you only need a rock and your foot.As for the "Moon Hoax"some people will belive anything.

I've always thought the best proof we did go to the Moon was the Russians. The main reason we went there wasn't for scientific reasons, but political. We HAD to beat the Russians there. (And a reason we stopped going... we got there first, no reason to continue.) The Russians aren't a dumb people. If there were ANY evidence we faked it, with the Cold War in full swing, the Russians would have been the first to jump on it.

(Well, the above and the laser reflector the astronauts left og the surface)

The Russians and the Chinese have both Crash landed Probes, The USA is the only country to have landed Men (11, 12, 14, 15, 16 & 17, 13 had to do an 8 around the moon the hard way). Plus the Moon Quake sensors, etc, and the Rocks they brought back(Property of NASA/US Government).

What about all that stuff that remained on the moon? The buggies, the platforms? If the garbage collection has no rockets and no alien has stolen it meanwhile, it all should be still there and can be found by moon mapping missions or other crewed spaceflights.

For those of us who follow space science...

Because we decided to explore and use other areas of the moon for landing it really has been seen as something as a 'let me smell your fingers you naughty little boy' situation.

I think it would be great if we went back and found the buggy up on blocks, stripped...
