Conspiracy thoughts can be quite amusing.. Lets drag it all the way and
say that its a planted hoax in our brain that we are living on this earth.
In fact we are small rat-like creatures on another planet.. and who we
really are looking for here in Seti is that someone/something who has planted this idea in our head..

Nice. ;-)

I do think they were on the moon back then. But it doesnt really matter much.
It doesnt help anyone if they were or if they weren`t. On the other hand, if
we in fact are Here for Real, and we Do find there is in Fact living someone
Else out there Somewhere... - That would make a big difference..

I`ll just keep crunching.. ;-))

Will these pictures shut the loonies up, or will we now have lots of explanations as to how they must have been faked too?

(edit) See the 40th anniversary of the Moon Landings thread as well.

I was wondering if some was going to post those in this thread. To those who want to belive, this is absolute proof. To those who think this is a conspiracy, well let's just say, they don't count.

It would be nice, But they will somehow make up some other excuse and continue to be delusional.

LOL.... Too much of that and they won't care two hoots if we landed on the moon, just where the bathroom is. Anyway even a photo " especially one produced by NASA " would not quell them not for one little bit. I know it really does not matter though if they believe that and I can't waste too much time. I mean I think it's how some of them make their living.

Question, If we did land on the moon why haven't the Astronauts elaborated more on what they have seen while in Space. I.E. UFO'S?

Remember that an unidentified flying object is first and foremost unidentified.

That doesn't mean it is extraterrestrial, it means we don't know what it is.

I know it was real because I watched Walter Cronkite report it live on TV 40 years ago tomorrow and if you couldn't trust him, you can't trust anyone. Uncle Walt died a couple day's ago just before the 40th anniversary of the landing.

Entertaining the "hoax" idiots isn't on my radar. Even seriously discussing them gives credence to their so-called "theory."

On the NASA site I've read the tribute to Walter Cronkite by Neil Armstrong, who is not taking any part in the celebrations, led by Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin.

Not that this has anything to do with the hoax thing but Hey Ned Ludd... Is that a Himalayan " sp " Cat in you avatar? I had one that looked just like him or her a few years ago. Ralph lived for 17 years and even though it was over 15 years ago I still think about him every so often.

It appears there really is "one born every minute".

Some of them become newspaper editors.

"The Daily Manab Zamin said US astronaut Neil Armstrong had shocked a news conference by saying he now knew it had been an "elaborate hoax".

Neither they nor the New Nation, which later picked up the story, realised the Onion was not a genuine news site."

LOL....the Onion??? They don't know?
The folks at the Onion must be breaking their arms patting themselves on the back for this coup....well done, fellas!
THAT is funny!

I'm sorry, but even this photo with the instrument package circled on the left, and the LM decent module circled on the right does not prove anything.

Those little dots could be any sort of boulder, or crater, or the photo could be doctored to produce the light and dark blots, and smudged to produce the foot-print trail.

I am a firm believer in the *fact* that we did send men to the moon (several times in fact), but this resolution does not prove it.

Maybe if the astronauts had scatterd some red, white and blue bits all over their landing sights in the pattern shown below then the hoax supporters would be quiet.

What I believe with considerations is that firm logic does produce definity.
For instance, if people who disbelieve produced theories that suggest 'would' proove the situation genuine, they could actually complete an affirmative prognosis.

e.g, someone says, well, if we sent telescopes into space and aimed one at the landing site, sooner or later it would be a proven fact. Everyone at NASA would of forseen that. Wouldn't they.

The one proof available to anyone who can and wants to use it is they left a device that will reflect light back to it's source. It is used with a laser and a telescope to measure the distance between the earth and the moon to the fraction of an inch. After all these years, they are still using it to monitor the change in the orbit of the earth/moon system. I recall when they place the device how it didn't seem like a very important experiment, but it is the last device still working from the original moon landing.
