You know the old adage:

A cat permits you to live with them.

A dog will live anywhere you permit.

Cats and Dogs are Trainable, Cats just retain more independence than Dogs.

Actually Dogs have a pack family structure and the most dominant Dog or Human rules(pecking order) and provides the food and water.

MEow. I read once that Cats and Dogs are related by an unknown common ancestor.

My two kitties live in harmony with my four dogs. They get along better, than the the three humans here. With Mark's ok, pics where posted here a few month ago for all six of them.

They may not be related by blood or ancestry, but the love and care is there. That is all that matters.

I love all forms of life.(Well maybe not snails, but I give them a break too:)

I'm sure snails are nice too, once you get to know them. :)

Well sometimes this human likes to eat them....yummy... The kitties seem to think, I should eat earth worms....They supply me with plenty. The dogs well, give them a buisquit{?} at the end of the day and they don't care.

Welcome back Mark!!

Tech Toys for your pets

Want to know what your pets really think about you? Well, I don't, but apparently some people do. Japan-based Takara Tomy has come out with two electric consoles, the Meowlingual and the Bowlingual (for cats and dogs, respectively), that translate all of your pet's deepest thoughts and feelings. Each device's technology slots a meow or bark into one of six standardized emotion categories (the categories differ between species) and then announces a humorous phrase to represent that emotion. For example, if your cat lets out a meow while you're lovingly petting it, Meowlingual will announce "I can’t stand it!" And all that time, you thought it liked being scratched behind the ears.

An English version of Bowlingual released in the United States with limited success, but Meowlingual never made it over. Unless your cat speaks Japanese (and you understand it), you probably won't want to fork out $75 plus overseas shipping for the device.

About as effective as this neat little device....

Finally, you're in control

Cats are known for many things. The dexterity to always land on their feet and the cleanliness of their fur coats. The ability to knock over a lamp or slam into a screen door and casually continue along as if nothing happened. The nerve to shred your furniture with their claws and somehow look cute doing it. The thoughtfulness of bringing home their latest bird catch and dropping it off at the backdoor as a "present" for you.

Cats are not known, however, for their ability to learn and obey the commands of their owners. That's where the Control-a-Cat Remote Control can come in handy.

Simply point at your cat, press buttons on the remote and hope for the best. With buttons for "Stop Scratching", "Show Affection", "Remain Aloof" and others, you'll be in control in no time. It's finally your turn to make your cat do what you want.

* Point at subject, press button, hope for the best
* 21-button novelty remote control
* No batteries required - powered by wishful thinking
* Dimensions: 5.5" x 2.2" (14 x 5.5 cm)

Here is a pet for those that don't want the expense of the vet bills, food, kitty litter, etc...

Yume Neko Smile Robotic Kitty

Still think taking care of a pet is too much work? No worries--Sega Toys has you covered. Yume Neko Smile (translates to "Dream Cat Smile") purrs, meows, blinks its eyes, and moves its head. Don't pull the tail, though, or else it'll hiss at you. With hidden sensors beneath the fur, Yume Neko Smile is incredibly lifelike--and a little creepy. Yume Neko Smile is currently available only in Japan, but you can find it at some specialty online stores that sell Japanese products in the United States.

That's a Toy, Real Cats give back love, that abomination needs batteries and has an ON/OFF switch. Except for when I got Angel and maybe one time for a checkup, She hasn't been to the Vet in Years as the Vet said, Since She doesn't go outside She doesn't need to see the Vet, She's still healthy to this day, But She's an indoor Cat.

My lil' darlings are strictly indoor kitties too, and haven't been to the vet since they were kittens.

And real cats don't collect dust or need to bagged to keep them clean of dust. As the fake up there would get stored on a shelf soon enough.

The two cats we had when I was a teenager were both indor/outdoor cats. Usually it was their choice which side of the door they were on. Note: They had their claws.
