I wish the numbers were consistent when looking at my results. That is, in the Boinc Manager under SAH project work done reads 6769.44 and then when I click on my Account Link in BM my total credit is 6853 and then scroll to the bottom of my account page and the Project List Chart Reads total credit at 6264? Even if I consider my pending credits at 1574.16 was the differences, none of it really adds up? The different stat. page discrepencies I understand, assuming the numbers are updated at different times for different pages but my main account page for one project showing two different numbers? Maybe Im not reading it right? Rick |

The number in the projects list is probably taken from one of the third party stats database. This is my guess, and I don't know which one. This is the only way I can see that they can get a complete list of your projects and the score on those projects can be obtained. These stat sites generally updated by poling the projects a couple of times a day. The numbers in the Boinc manager is updated whenever Boinc connects to your individual projects for download, upload, and reporting. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |

Well then shouldn't the Seti dbase and the Boinc Manager agree then on? |

No, BOINC Manager only gets the latest data in when it contacts the server. So it'll always be behind. |

Well then shouldn't the Seti dbase and the Boinc Manager agree then on? Well then shouldn't the Seti dbase and the Boinc Manager agree then on? I'm not sure how the various account pages within the projects are generated, but I suspect that it isn't in absolute real time. I know that the stats sites get their numbers from an XML page that the project generates many times a day. You'd need to get that answer from someone that is more familiar with the internal interdependencies of the project database. edit Sorry about the delay in posting. My DSL scraped out as I hit post. I had to switch over to cable connection. |

Well then shouldn't the Seti dbase and the Boinc Manager agree then on? How many times the stats XML files are updated depends on the project. S@H updates them once a day IFF there is database bandwidth to do so. Other projects update the stats XML files up to once every 4 hours (I don't know of any with shorter time between). The project list at the bottom of a users page is indeed generated from a third party stats site (I really don't remember which). The list of top (users, hosts) is generated, I believe, once an hour (DB bandwidth permitting). Each page is generated independently when someone actually looks at the page ofter the page timeout occurs. This can lead to interesting artifacts such as a single user being on two pages, or none.
