Must be me, but why don't you shut down your monitor when you go to sleep? Or use either its or Windows power saving mode? |

You didn't say which BOINC version you're using. BOINC 6.4.6 has fixes towards the screen saver. See my post here where you can download it. The screen saver can only show one task at the same time, so if you're running two or more, it'll switch between them each 10 minutes. Perhaps that in your case one task was having some problems, or it was paused. It's impossible to say what happened as we didn't see it and you didn't post a log of the messages of what happened at that time. But again, try it with BOINC 6.4.6 and else power down the monitor. That's an easier fix than anything else. |

Try switching to some other screensaver to see if it still does the save thing. It could be some other process kicking in like indexing. |

No, that is the version of the science application! Try the help menu in BOINC manager's advanced view and click "About BOINC Manager...". Before installing a new version, check other screensavers, as Aurora Borealis suggested. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Windows can be rather finicky. I don't use the screensaver, but I have noticed that the monitor power save doesn't always activate if the display updates frequently such as when the top screen is utorrent upload/download or the task tab of Boinc. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |
