Hi. I run BOINC manager 6.2.18 on a MacPro Octo with the 8800 GT card, My question is do I have to install CUDA? Thaks. Tom |

You can't run CUDA yet on the Mac. There are no drivers from Nvidia that enable it. It's what the BOINC developer for the Mac has been waiting on since it all started. There is also no Seti CUDA application for the Mac, so even if you managed to get BOINC to recognize the GPU, it wouldn't do you much good. So, no, you do not have to upgrade to a CUDA capable BOINC just yet. But I will say that the new BOINC 6.6.x is around the corner. It will have lots of other fixes included. So do check the BOINC download site regularly for an update. (If all is well, you'll also be notified through your messages if a newer recommended BOINC is available). |
