I have decided i want to start using CUDA

I am going to upgrade the client to 6.4.9

So here are the questions

At present i am using the OP APP Win32_AK_AP_SSSE3x

Can i still use this OP APP or do i need a different one? if so can anyone enlighten me to which one. as it gets bit confusing :)

do i need to run out my present Cache? before I upgrade the client

I have NVIDIA drivers which are CUDA compatible but i have noticed in the group there is new drivers do I need to Upgrade again?

No techy speak just plain english will do thanks

Thanks for you help

You can't use that specific app and do CUDA, but there is a new CUDA+AK_v8 team app you can use from this thread, but will envolve a bit of techiness to get it to use all the cores with a cc_config.xml file explained on the Lunatics page. There's also alot of info in the thread and the Lunatics forum.

No, it doesn't need to be, but unless you're real confident with what you're doing, it's not a bad idea.

I believe you need a minimum of 181.20, but I'm not 100% on what the exact spec is, but I do know that's the one I'm using. It might be as low as 180.xx though

Im not sure where to post this so Im hijacking this thread a bit :-)

I have been offered a 2nd hand 8800GTX ultra for £50, I already have a more recent GPU, but was thinking of buying this, sticking it in my dell work PC and crunching seti on it - I have a pci-x x16 slot so its possible.
Is anyone else using one of these monsters to crunch seti?
What sort of output can I expect from it - is it worth doing?
Just curious on how much increase in workunits I will get from this

thnx in advance
