It was a very interesting qualifying. I really like how Hamalton pull in to the pits so as not to bump Ferando, the home crowd fav. I know it was not intentional, but it smelled of a set up.

NASCAR suspends Sprint Cup driver under terms of drug policy
By Jim Utter - jutter@charlotteobserver.com
Saturday, May. 09, 2009

NASCAR has suspended a Sprint Cup driver under terms of its substance abuse policy - immediately and indefinitely - in advance of Saturday night’s race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, ThatsRacin.com and The Charlotte Observer have learned.

Sources said the driver, who has not been identified by officials, was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 7-5 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2009 NASCAR rule book. The determination was based on findings at last weekend’s race at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

NASCAR on Saturday declined to discuss the matter, saying that questions would be dealt with in a news conference at the South Carolina track on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Such a suspension would be the first under NASCAR’s drug policies for a driver at the top level, the Sprint Cup Series.

Note: The press conference is in 10 minutes from the time of this post.

The driver is Jeremy Mayfield, driver and owner of the #41 team. NASCAR does not announce what the particular substance was.

No 6 because of little fuel left. They ordered Massa to slow down when he was 4 because they feared he would not finish.

Reminds me of when Barrichello was with Ferarri and in first place only to run out of fuel on the final lap. Some times the brain trust makes some stupid mistakes.

Carlos do you think the cars for Brawn GP will do good on A street course?

I really don't know. Monaco is like no other track. The Brawn's have not been getting the top speed in the traps so I would say that thier advantage is at slower speeds. Monaco is a slow course. It plays to the car with the best acceleration and braking. Red Bull and McLaren will have problems, unless they have made major changes to thier brake systems. Unless they crash out, I expect the Brawn's to podium along with BMW and possibly Ferrari. Ferrari is working hard on getting the car balanced. What is so amazing the influence of just one man. When Brawn was the head of the Ferrari team, the team was unstoppable. Now that he has his own team it is the one to beat. Ferrari has 10x the budget but his leadership is making the diffrence.

I Think the Brawn´s will be very good in Monaco.
Also Red Bull.
The cars need a very good down force in Monaco.
So all teams with the double divusors should have an advantage.

A quick search of old news articles on www.formula1.com shows these teams working on double diffusers:

Red Bull developing one, but won't have it for Monaco
Ferrari working on it, no dates given

Matthew you know the funny part of it.

Ross Brawn asked the FIA about it before he built the car.
Thats the case Ferrari is mad at him.

He is way to clever.

Mike I am sure if the Ferrari was the first to ask then it would be okay.

Is Ferrari still going to boycott the FIA in 2010?
