This is good news: The Canary Islands got their first supercomputer installed at the university of ULPGC (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria)---->Campus de Tafira Its performance: 3 billions of operations/second. NOTE: 1 billion means here 1 million x 1 million: 1.000.000.000.000 20% is reserved for the ITC Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias; 15% for each local universities: ULPGC and ULL; 20% for the Red Nacional de Supercomputación; 30% for those who apply (investigators, companies related to technology and public administration entities) with an interesting and feasible project which undergoes the scrutinity and analysis of 4 scientists commitee. |

Thanks Dr.C.E.T.I. for the pic... I´ve been there today, in the campus but in another building. I´ll try to arrange a visit to the engineering faculty soon to have a closer look. Maybe I meet someone there with better RAC than I have!!!! LOL See you all tomorrow again....Goooood night. |
