I should have thought of this 2 weeks ago. Has Seti applied to Pelosi for a bailout? Is it secretly written into the financial package? Since nobody on this planet has read the dam thing it could be in there!! Certainly Seti could make better use of my grandchildrens future earnings than some of the stuff that's in there. Perhaps Dr. A made the bailout request directly to Pelosi.

OTOH, Seti has not been poorly managed and the staff is certainly not overpaid. That would probably disqualify Seti for a bailout.

Perhaps there is still a chance for Seti. Can we start a massive campaign to King Obama to hand write Seti into the margins of the bill before he signs it on Monday? It's allready full of corrections done my hand so nobody would notice!

I am a republican and I think that SETI is more deserving for a "bailout" then most other things out there. I am sure SETI can apply for some of the funding that got past and most likely would see some if they applied for it.

Exactly! Just think of all the 'trickle-down' entities that would benefit:
o Electric Companies
o Internet Service Providers
o Computer equipment makers (lots of different categories there!)
o Telephone providers (for dial-up)
o All the government agencies that levy Taxes on the above
o And so on, and so on...
