This is weird... I don't have it set to "No new tasks" so it should at least be trying to get work?? right? (and it is not suspended either)

2/5/2009 12:40:41 PM|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
2/5/2009 12:40:41 PM|SETI@home|Not reporting or requesting tasks
2/5/2009 12:40:46 PM|SETI@home|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks

From Computer ID: 4782608;

Any clues?

If it thinks it has enough work, then it shouldn't be requesting more.

Ok, you are running BM version 6.6.3. The 6.6.x versions so far seem to be having problems with their workfetch.

Restart Boinc and post your start up messages.

Claggy

Edit: when i checked earlier you didn't have any fresh work, but since then you've now got 85 fresh tasks.

I'm running 6.2.19 on mine and this is what I got earlier..

2009-02-05 13:19:39|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 51 completed tasks

It happens sometimes.. I've got plenty of work. Sitting on 227 tasks right now, and that's normally less than 100. Mostly shorties from over the weekend. Three tasks run and the fourth core is high-priority. That's what BOINC decided needed to be done.

Well, that seems to be what I would expect from BOINC in that case.

It also seems to verify the current wisdom:

6.2.19 or older (to a point) is serviceable from a work fetch and behaviour POV.

Anything newer, prepare yourself for a litany of woe! ;-)

Thanks all.
It seems to have fixed itself.
/me = worry wart today.

LOL
I am just watching these closer since I just upgraded the version.

I had just never seen it do that with nothing in the queue.
Sorry i was not clear in the OP. It had no tasks and was not trying to get any.

I have that same problem (on my machine, I haven't checked my father's and my brother's ones), no requesting jobs since 4-5 days ago, and there are no seti WUs in my queue, only for rosetta@home, so all of my cpu time goes to it right now. I was using 6.6.3, upgraded to 6.6.4 when it came out. I tried suspending rosetta, but still got the same massage and my cpu was idle, so I turned rosetta on again. Any suggestions/ideas beside downgrading to older version?

if you dont want to downgrade then you will have to wait for 6.6.5... 6.6.4 doesnt like to ask for work very often. if you install 6.6.0 you should see everything start working more as you would expect

Well, I meant downgrading to pre-6.6.x version such as 6.2.19 as posted above :). I downloaded v6.6.0 but before trying it out I decided to install 6.6.2 (the setup file is still on my HDD) and pressing Update button did the same - "CPU request: 0.00 seconds, 0 instances". Then I suspended rosetta, pressed Update again and it worked, now it's fine and crunching. Thanks for the advice ;).

5.8.16 isn't asking for new work like it used to. I'm on 24/7 and now it only has the 2 tasks it's working on and when 1 is done it'll upload that and get 1 more.

I've been getting a lot of wu's lately that won't start. CPU Time runs on the wu but progress sits at 0. Restart boinc and it restarts the time and the wu will then start.

Another thing I am not sure the stats are correct anymore with this latest version. It is way low on host average... or if it is correct it is 3 legged dog slow.
:)
Betas are fun. ;)
