Hi there I have been a SETI@home user for some years and lately switched to BOINC. While being at it I created accounts for LHC@home and climateprediction.net. All accounts are associated with this mailadress: boinc AT janus DOT dk But I have a problem: While my account for SETI@home and LHC@home share the same "Cross-project ID", my climateprediction account has its own "Cross-project ID". Kindda paradox. Any suggestion how this could happen and what to do? Janus |

Each project randomly generates a cross project ID. After a few connections, at least 2 per project, they will all be the same. Whenever you sign up for a new project the CPID may change or the old one may be given to the new project. So just wait it will fix itself eventually. John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- |

If there is not, then there will be two or more distinct pools. Examples: Host 1 is attached to CPDN and LHC and S@H. At this point it doesn't matter what any other hosts are attached to, this host can take care of all of the updates. Host 1 is attached to CPDN and LHC. Host 2 is attached to LHC and S@H. In this case there is still a path, but it will take longer to synchronize. Host 1 is attached to CPDN. Host 2 is attached to LHC. Host 3 is attached to S@H. There are no other hosts with more connections. In this case the CPIDs will never synchronize. |
