I have been off line from Seti for a year. I have built a new PC and got the net on :D
But today I downloaded Bionic Man'gr and connected to only SETI@Home.... I got a bunch of WU (Work Units) and when SETI/Bionic went to Crunch away the whole thing has hung.
I have read all the posts I can care to say I could and now I am just frustrated (P***** Off!!!) With this CUDA BS (YOU KNOW what that is).....
I have tryed to tell my online Preferences to stop using my GPU.... And still It has hung. I have reset... I have suspended and resumed.... I have the most uptoday Drivers for my Video card.... And I would say I a very good at using a PC... (It's my job as a tester to be good in many areas of computing)
CUDA = Crunching Units Doesn't Apply
I want SETI to work like it did a year ago. I just want to help!!! AGGHGHGHGHGHG........ Stupid CUDA! :P
MY PC Make up is this:

Machine name: SUPER-KETTY
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236)
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Page File: 280MB used, 3660MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 9500 GT
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Display Memory: 1024.0 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
DRIVER VER: 181.22

And I down Loaded SETI/BIONIC today. HELP ME Before I delete SETI!!!!
I DONT WANT TO USE CUDA..... AT ALL!!!
Please help.
Thanks heaps
I do Love SETI! <3

Just changing the preferences to not using the GPU doesn't help with the work that is already on your PC. That will have to be aborted first, or crunched. Your choice.

You can also use BOINC (not Bionic) 6.2.19, which can be downloaded from here, as that version doesn't recognize CUDA capable cards.

But to be honest, if your computer hangs due to it crunching tasks on the GPU, then you have a hardware problem, or lack of good cooling. What does it do when you play GPU intensive 3D games with everything in the options of the game on?

I have removed the NEW Version and as I type I am downloading the better older version.
My Hardware runs fine. I really have a good idea of what I am doing and I can't really say why this isn't working for me. I will give it a few months then try CUDA (shudders) agian then. :D
Thanks heaps for the link to the old version :D If it works I will name my first child after you!!!

OK I am about to name the kid in your name but....
I can't get the Bionc/seti app to run with both my cores.
I have made the file called cc_config.Xml
put this in
<cc_config>
<options>
<ncpus>2</ncpus>
</options>
</cc_config>
And save the file in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\BOINC
Gone and told Seti/Bionc to read the config file and still only 1 WU is gewtting crunched :C
What have I missed.
A year ago I just loaded SETI/Bionc And it found the Dual's on is own. I have gone and down loaded lunatisc V8 for my 32windows for AMD.
Please Just a little more help... Please.
