I'm happily BOINC'ing on a number of machines, both Mac and Windoze. All but one of these machines connect to the internet via a network & DSL, so they can report whenever they feel like it.

My laptop is another story. Most of the time it's at home, where it connects via dialup. Sometimes it comes to work and can connect via the network, but I'm only using it at lunch and on breaks. Which means I often wake up the laptop to see messages like "Deferring communication with project for 2 days, 8 hours, 7 minutes, and 42 seconds". Lovely -- I won't be online in 2 days, 8 hours, 7 minutes, and 42 seconds. Grrr...

In the Windoze GUI version, it's very easy to make a project report in on command, but I haven't been successful with the Mac CLI. I've tried running with -return_results_immediately, and I've tried running with -update_prefs (followed by the project URL), and neither seem to do anything. Nothing else in -help seems to be a good candidate.

Is it just me? Am I missing a blinding flash of the obvious? Or is this something that needs to be fixed?
